InstructionMy research question is: How might staying abstinent from social media lead to young adults improving their mental health and self-esteem? My hypothesis is: If young adults learn to take social media abstinences their mental health and self-esteem will improve My variables are: mental health and self-esteem This research study examined the relations of social media addiction to college students' mental health and investigated the role of self-esteem as a mediator for the relations, and further tested the effectiveness of an intervention in reducing social media addiction and its potential adverse outcomes. This study found that social media addiction was negatively associated with the student's mental health and that the relation between social media addiction and mental health was mediated by self-esteem.
