LINK HERE "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HvQI13ucHQ" The participants said things such as, “If you hire an employee and they don’t see people that look like them in the organization, they won’t stay in the organization” and “If you can’t see it, you can’t be it.” Possible items for discussion: What did these statements mean to you? Do you think diversity at the highest levels of the organization is important? Why or Why not? Do these statements conflict with a manager who says, "I just want to hire the best person for the job" ? Please make sure your posts and responses are written respectfully and with consideration for other viewpoints. Participation Expectations Webster defines “synthesis” as “the combining of often diverse [concepts] into a coherent whole”. The expectation is that students will develop their own synthesized engineering management philosophy. Each week students will be evaluated on their synthesis of the class topics (including readings, videos, activities), and their application of that analysis. Students may use any work/life experience applicable that relates to the student’s synthesized engineering management philosophy. Student engagement and comments should be directed to your classmates. They are your peers in learning, and should be fully engaged as such. The expectation is that active in-class discussion will further your understanding of the class topics. You only need to post once. You can start a new thread or reply to another student's thread. Posts should be thoughtful and comprehensive. There is no minimum or maximum word count, but a synthesized post would be at least a few sentences. 0 points - Did not post Discussion 1 -2 points - Minimal Participation - Just agreeing or disagreeing with another student's post without adding any original thought or analysis. 3 points - High-Quality Discussion Post - eg. drives the conversation forward, thoughtful debate,
