Instructionn December 2, 2015, a terrorist attack, consisting of a mass shooting and an attempted bombing, occurred at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California. The perpetrators, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, a married couple living in the city of Redlands, targeted a San Bernardino County Department of Public Health training event and Christmas party of about 80 employees in a rented banquet room. During the FBI investigation into the shooting, a locked iPhone belonging to Farook was recovered and the FBI attempted to get Apple to assist in accessing the phone by cracking the encrypted security programmed into the iPhone. Apple refused and the FBI had to utilize external sources (i.e. hackers) to get into the locked phone. Do you agree with Apple's stance to not assist the FBI? Why or why not? Please, answer this question honestly and not what you think I might want to hear because of my former employment by the FBI. I want to read your well thought out, honest responses. You can agree or disagree with Apple. Just make sure to support your argument with external references and use proper terminology and concepts.
