Practicum Objectives This course includes a 1-credit, 80-hour practicum and project requirement as part of the clinical hours required for the DNP credential. The Practicum and Project Experience enables you to explore key issues related to your specialty practice and to refine your leadership skills as you work with others at your practicum site. You will also begin the necessary activities to complete the DNP project. To guide you through your practicum hours, you will develop practicum objectives. Review the DNP Project Process Summary and the Appendix A: PET Process Guide. During this course, you will complete the activities through Item 12 in Appendix A: PET Process Guide. WEEKLY RESOURCES To prepare: Sign into your Meditrek account. Review the Meditrek Time Log requirements. Begin to think about Learning Objectives that will guide your practicum hours, as well as the activities you will undertake to achieve those objectives. Refer to the DNP Practicum Activities Guideline and the 2021 AACN Essentials, located in the Learning Resources, to inform your development of the learning objectives. The resource guide includes ideas for the DNP Project that are tailored to executive nurse leadership development and supports practicum project work in NURS 8312. The Assignment (1–2 pages) You should include an objective related to DNP Project activities. You may use the objective and activities identified on the Practicum Objectives Guide. Review Appendix A: PET Process Guide, found in Learning Resources. Activities through Item 12 will be completed during this term. You will be able to document all activities related to the objective as part of your practicum activities. Develop one to two additional practicum activities aligned with the AACN 2021 Essentials Competencies and Subcompetencies for Advanced Nursing Education. Review the DNP Practicum and Project Activities Guideline, in Practicum Resources, for approved activities; the AACN 2021 Essentials Competencies and Subcompetencies for Advanced Nursing Education; and the example of practicum and project objectives.
