InstructionScenario As a HIT practitioner, I believe HIT lives in the middle of a hospital go-live or major upgrade at 2am, in a breach of patient records, and in the boardroom or executive conversation about whether the last system investment actually improved the organization. This assignment is about connecting what we're studying to what's actually happening out there. Find a real-world HIT implementation, failure, or innovation from the past three years and analyze it. I'm looking for your analysis of a HIT situation, not a summary in video format. You'll record a professional, single-take analysis of the HIT implementation in which you present the following: Your video analysis should address four things: What is it? Describe the initiative, event, or system which might be an EHR rollout, a ransomware attack on a health system, an AI diagnostic tool, an interoperability effort, you decide. Why does it matter? Connect it explicitly to at least one concept from this course. Spell it out. What went right or wrong? Pick one key success factor or failure point learned from the course thus far. What would you do? If you were the HIT leader on this project, what would you recommend, double down on, change, or avoid entirely? One credible source minimum. peer-reviewed journal, government report, or reputable trade publication to be cited during the video. Your Task Create a 3–5 minute video analysis You'll record a 3 - 5 minute professional, single-take video analysis of the HIT implementation of your choice, covering the areas listed above. Talking Points Each section represents part of the readiness brief that you’ll communicate verbally. What is it? (≈1 minute) Describe the initiative, event or system. This might be an EHR rollout, a ransomeware attack on a health system, an Ai diagnostic tool, an interoperability effort, you decide. Give me enough context to undesrtand what happened and where. Why does it matter? (≈1 minute) Connect it explicitly to at least one concept from this course. Spell it out and how it might align to strategic alignment, interoperability, governance, cybersecurity, change management, any of these work as well as other concepts you found impactful in your learnings and/or the event itself. What went right or wrong? (≈1 minute) Go deeper than the headline. Identify one key success factor or failure point and tie it back to what we've covered in the course. This is where I'd like to see your analysis. What would you do? (≈1 minute) If you were the HIT leader on this project, what would you recommend, invest more in, change or avoid entirely. Be specific and direct. Recording Guidelines Length: 3–5 minutes total. Tone: Professional + conversational = “executive briefing” style. Visuals (optional): Up to 3 slides summarizing the HIT initiative, even or system, why does it matter, what went wrong and what would you do. Preparation: Outline key points; do not read a script verbatim.
