Analyze a policy (e.g. managed care; deinstitutionalization; Medicare, DSRIP), which has affected your agency's (Forestdale, Inc.) or your ability to deliver quality social work services. Use relevant primary and secondary data/research if available. First introduce the topic and the paper. 1. Identify the source of and rationale for the policy (e.g., external/internal; local/federal; administrative/legal, etc.). 2. Discuss its origins and the changes (if any) it has undergone 3. Describe the effect(s) it has had on clients, staff, population and the agency/organization (Forestdale, Inc.) 4. Present differing ideological perspectives on this policy (if there are any) by different actors in the system. 5. Identify any value-based, ethical or other professional dilemmas social workers may face. 6. Suggest some strategies, which have been or could be taken to change or strengthen the policy by social workers and others. 7. Incorporate or separately append one or two Case Vignettes from among your clients or constituency if possible and relevant, documenting how the policy affects a particular client/patient and what attempts you and/or others have made to advocate for change. 8. Finally, identify an organization doing advocacy around this issue if relevant and describe briefly what they are doing to effect change.
