Dear Abdulrashid, I read your two papers and unfortunately, neither paper can be given a passing grade. In both papers, you do not tell me where in the two books (Holton and Heider) you got your information. In the Indian Removal paper, you have numbers for footnotes or endnotes, but they do not refer to any source material from the Heider book. Without this information, I will assume that you have plagiarized (taken other authors' ideas and words and passed them off as your own). For the Black Americans in the Revolutionary Era paper, you don't make any reference to what documents you looked at by citing these documents or telling me which documents you used (or citing Holton's introduction, if you used that too). I am wondering if you understand this concept of giving credit to the work of other writers or making reference to primary sources (original documents from the time period we are studying) so I know where you are getting your ideas and concepts. Without knowing this, I cannot give you a passing grade on the paper. As it stands, you have an F on the Black Americans paper and this mark stands (since this was the second chance you had to rewrite the paper). If you would like to rewrite the Indian Removal paper and give me the information to back-up the footnotes you provide in the paper, I will look at it again. This information must come from the Heider book (Indian Removal) that is required reading for our course. You cannot use any outside sources for these papers, other than those books and documents in them.
