Six-page (excluding Works Cited page) argument 40%
1. a letter of intent, explaining the reasons for your choice of topic, stating a tentative thesis and main supporting points for that thesis, and identifying the type of argument you plan to write (5%);
2. the first full-length draft (3 or more pages, excluding the Works Cited page), incorporating at least three secondary sources, and focused on an argumentative thesis (5%);
3. a copy of peer-editing feedback provided for another students first draft (5%);
4. the second full-length draft, at least 2 pages longer than first (excluding the Works Cited page), incorporating at least five secondary sources, and focused on an argumentative thesis (5%);
5. the final polished version, focused on an argumentative thesis (20%).
The reasoned argument offered in the essay should demonstrate an awareness and understanding of opposing viewpoints. The essay should cite 5 to 8 credible to scholarly sources at a minimum; these should be library resources located on web sites alone is highly discouraged, and only those that can be verified as credible (i.e. .gov, .edu, .mil, org) should be considered. A consistently used citation form should be in evidence, preferably MLA. and selected with their appropriateness and authoritativeness in mind. The sources should include, but not be limited to, at least one book or journal article, along with a minimum of 3 periodical articles.
I need the letter of intent on March the 2nd. The rest of it saturday. My topic is teaching in prison.
