I have uploaded an outline, which provides class outlines of the Subjects I need write ups about. They are numbered 1-5.
add your own #6 subject for good measure.

Experiences at my job need to discuss working/learning experiences gained from doing those numbered courses.

Hi. I am basically a professional involved in the Computer Science field, and have an experience of close to 10 years, so I guess I can write a good summary of my own career field (software engineering), and you'll get exactly what you want. Before deciding to give it to me, you can go through the ratings and feedback that I have received from various students on this site. Have a nice day. Looking forward for your response on this. Regards, KS.

  • I went through the topics, and I have worked a fair bit on all of these, I mean these match perfectly to my field. I have a few questions though - 1) Is the writing to be done as a single paper, or is it some kind of online course wherein I need to take up these 5 topics? 2) If its a paper, what should be the length of that paper? You mentioned to add a #6 for "good measure". So is that a mandatory thing? Do you have any topic which can make up #6?
    User_2278 | Apr 05, 2013, 08:09 AM
  • The length should match the amount of learning a person would've gained working there for 5 years. I was there from summer of 2002 to summer of 2006. It should be like a paper. this link is of a sample: http://global.cmich.edu/prior-learning/handbook/UG-PLA-Assessment.pdf The 6th is mandatory as well - It can be any subject you feel like you gained substaintial experience at.
    User_3205 | Apr 05, 2013, 08:23 AM
  • So I was thinking writing around 10-12 pages for a total of 6 topics, but one more question here - Most topics have course objectives associated with them, so should the paper cover all those objectives? And when its mentioned to discuss about examples showing what did you learn, does that involve giving technical details (like for programming language or database, do I need to give details like I learned about some programming constructs or some data model aspects)? Please let me know how to go about these. Thanks.
    User_2278 | Apr 05, 2013, 08:31 AM
  • 10 - 12 pages should work. the course objectives are not to be taken literally. Those are actual course descriptions that I just plugged in there to give you an idea of what the learning experiences I need covered. I DON'T want you to cover them exactly (thet would be suspicious) But please use them as main topics & reference guides to help you along the way. & Yes this involves giving detailed technical skills, also give examples. *reminder: I worked at a school district so I was able to float from school to school doing work. some work was with students, some of it was lab work and some of it was with Staff. each skill set needs to be described as me learning, applying, and growing in experience with it over the time period I worked there. Thanks.

  • Gotcha! This explains what is required from my side. Since this is a very specialized paper, I would say you've made the right choice by selecting me for doing this. I won't disappoint you, and would provide you with a really good paper. Thanks, and have a nice day.

  • Just checking in.. How is the progress coming?
    User_3205 | Oct 05, 2013, 05:30 AM
  • Hi, Things going fine. I am able to proceed on the identified topics. And currently I am using the time line you provided (i.e. 2002 to 2006), and also making sure that the contents are relevant to that period.Thanks.

  • Hi. Wanted to ask a few more things. In your outline, under Databases, there are three sections - IV - Course Goals and Objectives; V - Methodology; and VI. COURSE OUTLINE/ASSIGNMENTS. Most of these contain many common topics (and some unique ones). For IV, I wrote close to 2 pages, which covered almost all the key concepts of database. So do I need to cover everything in #s V and VI, or just the leftovers from IV?
    User_2278 | May 14, 2013, 12:42 PM
  • Hey, Those outlines are to give you a better idea of what I would have learned had I taken those classes. Hopefully they help you with each topic. You do not need to follow them as long as you meet the objective. So, what you write about in each topic like (DATABASE) must show that I have gained college level experience. If your two pages shows that: * I learned the skill, * showed growth * applied that skill in the work enviornement * gives an example(s) * and most importantly describes that I used that skill 3 + years on the job You should be good. The years are important becasuse it's like 1 credit hr per/yr for each skill (Topic) you're writing about. did this help? Hope that helps.

  • I have attached the first draft here. I have highlighted all the content you provided in red, and my own writing in black. Can you go through it once, and let me know if this is how you want it to be? If I need to add more details/less details? Anything else that you think is missing. In the sample pdf you provided, the person has written very few lines, but I am writing much more (as I don't think such broad concepts can be covered in a few lines). Please let me know what you think of the attachment?
    User_2278 | May 14, 2013, 13:28 PM
  • I sent you an example of one I did previously. Please also review this link starting at page #7: http://global.cmich.edu/prior-learning/handbook/UG-PLA-Assessment.pdf *I made an error: In the Job description. say that I worked for the Pontiac School Dist. from 2002 - 2006 for under a program called `Freedom to Learn`. This link should help you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_to_Learn *The outline I added was purely for guidance purposes and nothing more - please remove them as you go. Also remove the numbers. you should start with a topic like (databases) and then describe in detail everything `I` did. please ask more questions if this doesn't make sense. Thank you.
    User_3205 | May 15, 2013, 04:57 AM
  • Yes, I will remove all that is there in red (i.e. the outline you had provided). Right now I have kept the outline for my own reference (so that I don't miss any topic), but it won't be there in the final product. I just wanted your opinion on the matter that I had written in black. I can add the feedback you'll provide on same. I also referred the sample you attached, but the thing is that as I told you in my last comment also, the sections in sample are very small, and the matter that I have will be lengthier than the sample. Please let me know if what I have written (in black font) doesn't make sense to you.
    User_2278 | May 15, 2013, 08:22 AM
  • I will check it out.
    User_3205 | May 15, 2013, 14:32 PM
  • I did a quick review: I noticed you had part of the Job description in the wrong place so I moved it up. I wrote in red so you could see my comments. but the just of it is. You had places where you wrote in present form (like it's happening now) when it should always be in past tense. The other thing I noticed is that you gave definitions of items like: Web Page Styling - which does not help. All experiences need speak on how I used it and what I did with it. After I removed the garbage content it didn't appear like much was written on some of the subjects. I'll reserve my comments until you make further progress. Overall it wasn't bad because I did see good detail on some of it, but there needs to be experience detailed with an understanding of what was learned and applied for each topic. Thanks, Bryan
    User_3205 | May 16, 2013, 11:34 AM
  • Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I'll update the paper accordingly. When you say - "After I removed the garbage content it didn't appear like much was written on some of the subjects", what all sections do you feel were not covered well (except for the last 2 sections, on which I had not started when I posted that draft)? I'll remove direct definitions to map them to something you did. Also, I put those hyperlinks in there for my own reference (and they won't be there in final paper). One more thing - since it's a detailed account of your personal experience, I don't think it would require any APA/MLA/Chicago style referencing, right? I'll post something soon which would be much closer to your expectation than this one, but I posted this one mid-way just to get your feedback at around mid-way mark, so that it doesn't get pushed till the very end. Thanks again, appreciate your feedback.

  • Hi. Please find the attached "knowledgeseeker1752013CareerSummary.doc". I have done all the 5 sections you had mentioned, and an additional 6th section on Design Patterns. I have tried to make the paper as per your requirement by acknowledging the learning you got from various projects. I have also tried to link the sections together so that nothing looks out of place. Please review once, and let me know if you feel I need to modify something in the paper. Thanks and have a nice day. KS.
