hey i just need editing on this reading response its was an summaries for the( first meditation of Descartes) and this is what my prof told me to do (*** You seem unable to do what I asked you to do. I asked you to summarize the Descartes's stages of doubt. In the first stage, he eventually doubts the senses by appealing to dreams. You mention the senses, but do not mention dreams. In the second stage, he doubts types and the physical sciences, which are about types, by recognizing that his own imagination might construct types that do not actually exist in reality. You don't mention any of this in your essay. In the third stage, he doubts arithmetic and geometry by noting that there *could be* an omnipotent God who either gave him such a defective nature that he cannot correctly understand arithmetic and geometry, or who actively interferes with his judgments when he tries to judge about arithmetical or geometrical matters. You don't mention any of this in your paper. To sum up: You are mostly unable to tell me *what* Descartes doubts, and totally unable to tell me *how* he doubts it.***) please just follow what he said i will also upload the paper AND JUST THE FIRST MEDITATION

  • 10/29 -- You must see the GradeMark report. I am giving you credit for *trying* to discuss the stages of doubt here. Most of the important points you make in your paper are false. You are not comprehending the most basic points we are covering in class. You often claim the *opposite* of what was said in class, as a matter of fact. In particular, where do you claim that Descartes successfully doubted anything? You claim instead that he does *not* doubt his senses, and he does *not* doubt his own body parts. This is false, taking the first meditation as a whole. He definitely does doubt these things. You need to find a tutor, or do a lot of outside reading. I fear you are not understanding me or the texts we are reading at all. Please see the GradeMark report for more detailed comments.
