Mandatory Minimum Sentencing Laws Students can select only one topic from the above suggested topics and that topic must be approved prior to the student beginning work on his or her research paper. All papers will be submitted through Turnitin in CANVAS under the Turnitin Assignment. All written assignment requirements: All written assignments, including journal assignments, must be completed outside of class and presented in a computer generated form, adhering to APA format. Student’s paper must be twelve (12) point Times New Roman font, including page numbers, doubled spaced and one (1) inch margins are REQUIRED. In all cases, written assignments should adhere to standard usage of English grammar and be free of spelling and/or typographical errors. (I’m picky about this!) All assignments are due on the dates assigned. Any papers turned in after the due date, but before the last day of class, will receive not more than ½ credit. Your paper must be at least a minimum of four (4) pages to a maximum of six (6) pages, which does not include the Reference page using APA format. Do not include a cover page. Students are to include a “References” page as the final page of your paper, which lists your reference sources. Also, make sure you cite your sources within the contents of your document. It is the student’s responsibility to have a minimum of four (4) or more professional resources using books, trade journal articles, and/or peer reviewed articles. Do NOT use your course textbook, Wikipedia, newspapers, or magazines as reference sources. Your written assignments must be your own work.
