Instruction
To start, make an outline of your paper, using the thesis statement for the first paragraph and including one sentence for each paragraph of the body of your paper. Include one sentence for your conclusion as well. Here is a model to help you design the working outline of your slides.

For additional information and a complete breakdown about outlines and their formats, review your textbook and this week's lecture about planning the research essay, creating an outline, and writing the paper.
Working from your outline, create a presentation of your final paper on a series of slides. Use the Evaluation Criteria for Preliminary PowerPoint checklist as a guideline in creating your slides. You will also use this checklist to provide feedback to your peers on their slides.
When you complete your presentation, post it as an attachment to the Discussion Area below for critique by your peers. You should comment on the slides presented by at least two of your classmates by the end of the week

II. Body
A. Main Point 1
Multicultural relationships are more acceptable in society today than they have ever been before. Years ago, some people would be up in arms over the topic of interracial dating, a lot has changed.
1: If you were to go back as few as twenty or thirty years in American history, you would find a time when an interracial date was cause for derision and even violence at the hands of other American citizens. America has been becoming far more tolerant in the last few years.
2: Years ago, discrimination was common and the couple would be treated in a poor manner simply because of their multicultural relationship. Multicultural couples today are usually treated no differently than any other couple and are commonplace. Multicultural dating and relationships have become more likely through a change in society as a whole.
B. Main Point 2
Many interracial couples are faced with negative reactions from society, making it hard for them to have a regular relationship.
1: A lot of the people, who disapprove of interracial dating, do so because they feel that a person should only date, have relations with and marry someone of the same ethnic background in order to preserve the ethnic race.
2: friend of the same race will also give great disapproval to a person. Sadly, to top it all off, the general public will often give off negative reactions and even take it so far are being publicly rude and in the worst of cases causing physical harm.
C. Main Point 3
A growing number of Americans are showing that we all can get along by forming relationships and families that cross all color lines.
1: It is clear also that many cross-cultural relationships have the advantage in that the couple involved in the cross cultural or interracial relationship gets to experience different aspects of each other's culture on a more personal basis than just hearing or reading about the experience.
2: Cross cultural marriages are finding their way of acceptance in many societies, where racism is slowly being wiped out, since it is clear that cross-cultural relationships are on the rise.
D. Main Point 4
The number of interracial marriages involving whites and blacks each year in the United States has jumped tenfold since the 1960s,
1: Interracial marriages play a role in helping society get rid of its stereotypes so that people are able to enjoy the experience of something or someone different in a more in-depth and personal approach.
2: becoming trendier and couples do not need feel alone as Hollywood stars and other famous people are all making the same choices of love. A very famous interracial marriage that a couple can use as a role model is rock star David Bowie and model Iman.
E. Main Point 5
With struggle of expectance in interracial relationship many couples become isolated from their families whether immediate or extended family members.
1: Interracial marriages are mostly conducted in a civil means or the couples elope. The families of the interracial couple rarely show up at the ceremony. The pattern of concealment is usually continued and the families are never notified of the marriage.
2: Some family members might not overtly demonstrate their abhorrence toward interracial relationships and instead display their disapproval in a subtle passive-aggressive manner. For instance, parents may not invite their daughter or son who is dating or married interracially to any family functions.
III. Conclusion
A. Hard to believe, considering the mindset of a few decades ago, that interracial relationships are becoming increasingly accepted.
B. When faced with negative reactions from society, interracial couples must endure the stress that goes along with it. Sometimes a person will find that negative reactions will occur from people of their own race, disapproving of dating outside their own ethnic group
C. Multicultural relationships show how much diversity there is in America. Interracial relationships are bridging the gap of hatred between races.
D. It has become increasingly popular for African American women to be in relationships with or marry Caucasian men. Compared to years ago, it was extremely frowned upon for African American men to be with Caucasian women.
E. Racism, verbal and physical abuse and isolation are found within the families, friendship and work environment of members of interracial relationships.
