Instruction
Imagine you are an entrepreneur, wanting to apply your creativity to start-up a new magazine. Think about your own interests, perhaps, and what you know of the existing field of magazines in those areas. Then, come up with an idea for a new magazine, to fill an un- or under-served niche in the market. (Most start ups, nowadays, are narrowcasted.) Create a proposal for your new magazine, as if you would present it to investors. This should include: a title; a statement of what the magazine will be about and how it will be unique - that is how fills an unserved niche; offer a mission statement (common to business proposals, and starting with the word "to..."; a target audience; what advertisers the magazine will attract; a description of the visual style (fitting the subject and/or audience); and a list of standard "departments" (that is, running sections) that will appear in each issue. Finally, present a sample table of contents for the premiere issue, with specific article titles or ideas fitting the various departments. Make the proposal look professional and nice.
