4.5 Assignment
Directions
In this assignment, you will dig a little deeper into the issue of concern that you have identified. Download the “Issue Documentation Analysis” file from Resources. This document provides a template for investigating, in greater detail, the implications and possibilities for change and further advocacy. This analysis will assist you in creating an informed response to Assignment 4.6 where you will be writing a letter to an identified policy maker.
Introduction and Alignment
An integral part of the advocacy process is a full understanding of the varying forces and influences that are operating either to increase or inhibit the development of services for identified people groups. To gain this understanding, it is necessary for advocates to be fully informed and knowledgeable regarding their issue(s) of concern (e.g., prevalence, legislative and legal initiatives, obstacles to change, leading spokespersons/advocacy organizations, recent advances or losses).
Upon successful completion of this assignment you will be able to:
1. Analyze historical data for application in advocacy and social change.
2. Exhibit skills for assessing needs of individuals and families for services.
My issue of concern is getting the veterans the resources that they need to come back from serving and live out their lives with quality, dignity, and respect. Which means revisiting their current resources they are currently receiving and see if there are more resources available due to their changing needs.
I did not start filling out this form due to needing help with it but listed above what my target group is and what I feel they need help with. You can change or add to it as needed.
