In their presentation of identity, you should further explore how they complicate the notion or concept of identity. Your analysis should consider the ideas and discussions that we have had in class regarding rhetorical situation and rhetorical appeals. Your main purpose in this essay is to examine how different writers and authors construct their writing to effectively communicate to their audience of the importance of their message. OBJECTIVES Students will be able to: • Analyze the rhetoric of an argument • Apply understanding of rhetorical appeals of argument • Develop awareness of representations of identity through language, race, and cultural lenses GUIDELINES • Minimum of 600 words (approximately 2 ½ pages) • Includes well-written and organized paragraphs • Includes an introduction, clear thesis, and conclusion.
