Intro: Drawing upon a sociological perspective, define gender and discuss why it is relevant/important with regards to various issues related to work such as pay, promotion, authority, and occupation. Take your time to describe with accurate detail what the situation is today, and explain why we see the disparities and struggles we do in the workplace and in society. 2. Which readings or materials most impact your understanding of the issues? Be sure to select a variety of sources and include input from all sources – lectures, textbook, outside materials including the BLS site and videos we watched. 3. Explain with careful detail how gender impact either pay or the work/family balance as the focus of your paper. Consider what can be done to improve the current situation.
