  • Friend I am not home; just stepped out; just check the attachment; the second answer starts at the sixth last sentence which starts by “it is my view....”
    Thetutor | Mar 21, 2018, 16:37 PM
  • Reply 1 The zero-tolerance policy emphasizes on strict punishment for criminals with the intention of eliminating all undesirable behaviors and conduct. The policies also prohibit people in power or authority positions from changing punishments subjectively to fit the situation and are required to impose pre determined punishment depending on the crime as well as the history of the offender. Arguably, it is my view that the zero-tolerance policy should be implemented in all states as, through it, crime and other undesirable behaviour will be eliminated per se. In other words, this policy states that crimes should not be committed at all and this is a positive aspect. Also, the policy disregards subjectivity and recommends objectivity by stating clearly the punishments for specific crimes and hence, it should be upheld.
    Thetutor | Mar 21, 2018, 17:00 PM
  • reply 2. It is my view that harsher punishments may reduce criminal activities but not entirely. As evident, there exists some stringent laws and punishments say for example life imprisonment but still, people are committing crimes which call for such punishments. Harsher punishments may deter crime by making the people scared, but again, other methods of social control such as the use of rehabilitation, correctional centers, and teaching morality will work more efficiently.
