DOCTORATE OF SOCIAL WORK!!! I need to complete a IRB application for a research study on the “Does working in a correctional facility affect the workers as it relates to demographics, job performances, social life, and their health"? It will be submitted to my professor, not the IRB board. It suppose to be practice to familiarize me with the IRB application. Also, we are not really collecting data, this is a practice of how we would collect data once we get to our dissertation.

Date Posted: 21/04/2018
Category: Political Science
Due Date: 27/05/2018
Instruction
Complete the IRB Application for my Survey Research Proposal. INFORMATION ON MY STUDY >> The research question is “Does working in a correctional facility affect the workers as it relates to demographics, job performances, social life, and their health? I will be measuring all of those aspects. My study is geared more to using probability sampling. My population will be chosen at random at different jail facilities. The survey when administered to staff will not marked nor will the respondent be required to complete the survey or place any identifying marks that would identify the respondent. This data will not have any identifying characteristics or coded identifiers that would allow me or others to identify the survey respondents. In relation to use of survey for data collection, staff will be asked questions such as: Do you associate working at a correctional facility with stress, frustration, or emotional exhaustion? After an incident, one-on-ones were useful by asking: Do events as such reap havoc on job satisfaction?( Byrd, Silverman, Blount, 2000). Also, if abled too.. In about two weeks I will be using the data that you entered to write the paper so if you want a chance to the paper as well, it will be awesome. This class is survey research methods.

  • Hi, are your there? I have a question!
    annewriter | Apr 29, 2018, 11:14 AM
  • Hello yes mam
    User_15079 | Apr 29, 2018, 15:07 PM
  • What’s the question
    User_15079 | Apr 29, 2018, 18:44 PM
  • Give me one hour so I can send you a list of the things I need some clarification
    annewriter | Apr 29, 2018, 19:27 PM
  • Okay
    User_15079 | Apr 29, 2018, 19:47 PM
  • The first question is: do you plan to do a pilot study?
    annewriter | Apr 29, 2018, 19:51 PM
  • The purpose of the pilot study is to assess for weaknesses, bias, ambiguity, limitations, or flaws within the design of the interview questions and make necessary adjustments before final adjustments, if necessary.
    annewriter | Apr 29, 2018, 19:54 PM
  • Honestly it doesn’t matter, a pilot study would help eliminate some of the systematic errors.
    User_15079 | Apr 29, 2018, 19:59 PM
  • Yes we can do that.. would that make it easier when you write the paper
    User_15079 | Apr 29, 2018, 20:00 PM
  • Let me send the partial application so you can review the information I have included for the pilot study and other areas of interest.
    annewriter | Apr 29, 2018, 20:01 PM
  • I want you to review section one first, then, I will send section two upon your approval of the information provided. find attached IRB Form
    annewriter | Apr 29, 2018, 20:11 PM
  • Hello, I just read what you wrote and I didn't want any identifying factors from the workers. Everything is suppose to be random sampling.
    User_15079 | Apr 29, 2018, 20:28 PM
  • Can you highlight on the form the areas you would like me to change?
    annewriter | Apr 29, 2018, 20:31 PM
  • Just did this part * Interviews Questions- Having obtained informed consent from the participants, I will audiotape answers of the interview questions
    User_15079 | Apr 29, 2018, 20:55 PM
  • Okay, I will revise it.
    annewriter | Apr 29, 2018, 21:01 PM
  • Ok, thank you
    User_15079 | Apr 29, 2018, 22:27 PM
  • Hello, are you almost finished? I have to turn it in soon
    User_15079 | Apr 30, 2018, 02:39 AM
  • I have a few sections to fill, but trying my best to finish as soon as possible
    annewriter | Apr 30, 2018, 02:43 AM
  • ok thank you
    User_15079 | Apr 30, 2018, 02:48 AM
  • Hello, It's 11:35 and I have to have it in by 12
    User_15079 | Apr 30, 2018, 04:35 AM
  • Please help me answer this question meanwhile I continue working on the remaining sections "Describe the anticipated benefits of this research for society."
    annewriter | Apr 30, 2018, 04:40 AM
  • The study is not only seeking to give insights on the scale of job satisfaction, but also to contribute some knowledge to issues people working in correctional facilities experience. How would the society benefit from this?
    annewriter | Apr 30, 2018, 04:43 AM
  • ok.. It's definitely passed the time but which do you need help with
    User_15079 | Apr 30, 2018, 05:04 AM
  • I wanted to know how the society will benefit from your study?
    annewriter | Apr 30, 2018, 05:09 AM
  • The study could help identify problems of correctional worker and officer to better perform their duties and keep and maintain better relationships in his or her personal lives. Could we incorporate their person life as far as " family, relationships" with society ? I'm not really sure how to answer that
    User_15079 | Apr 30, 2018, 05:21 AM
  • Really I think the society would just be knowledgeable, I don't see what could be beneficial for them from this study
    User_15079 | Apr 30, 2018, 05:22 AM
  • I also don't think there is any direct way in which the society will benefit from the study. So, I will just state that the study will only help identify problems of correctional worker and officer to better perform their duties and keep and maintain better relationships in his or her personal lives.
    annewriter | Apr 30, 2018, 05:25 AM
  • That will work
    User_15079 | Apr 30, 2018, 05:32 AM
  • How would you answer this question "Will this study examine a procedure, innovative or accepted, that will have the intent or reasonable probability of improving the health or well being of the participants?"
    annewriter | Apr 30, 2018, 05:40 AM
  • I am not sure whether or not to fill in item 50. Please confirm and let me know whether or not it is relevant in your study.
    annewriter | Apr 30, 2018, 05:43 AM
  • Don't worry about it. I have it figured out
    annewriter | Apr 30, 2018, 05:52 AM
  • Yes, he wants every section filled
    User_15079 | Apr 30, 2018, 05:53 AM
  • What is your student ID No?
    annewriter | Apr 30, 2018, 05:56 AM
  • and the name of the supervising faculty member
    annewriter | Apr 30, 2018, 05:57 AM
  • A00660107 Sgt. Winco
    User_15079 | Apr 30, 2018, 06:01 AM
  • I have finished. Please find attached.
