Instruction
Read the five articles and the case scenario below. Using the five articles, your text book, and other sources, your task is to write a report to your senior management to persuade management that a cross cultural training program is essential to the success of plans to expand international operations for your organization (see further explanation below). Please read over the instructions for Report Format Guidelines (Report Format GuidelinesPreview the document) for additional instructions on how to write your report. Imagine you work for a medium sized American firm that has plans to expand its international operations. In the next few months, the firm will send an initial group of product managers to one country in Latin America and one country in East Asia. The product managers will train local employees in sales techniques. As the firm’s training director, you have been asked to give a presentation for the senior management. Your purpose is to justify a training program that will prepare the product managers for their overseas assignments by increasing their awareness of cultural differences. Your task is to persuade senior management that a training program is essential to the success of plans to expand international operations and to the organization. Using information from the sources below, as well as related information from your book and any other sources you wish to use where applicable, persuade your senior management that (a) cultural differences are real, (b) cultural differences do affect organizational communication, and (c) a training program is therefore essential to the success of the planned expansion into Latin America and East Asia.
