A 67-year old man comes into the ER via ambulance complaining of trouble breathing. All vitals are taken and his oxygen level is low, blood pressure is slightly elevated, and the man seems slightly disoriented. Upon initial interview, the man lives alone, has Type I diabetes, has no family near by and lives off of Social Security. He’s currently receiving all medical treatment through Medicaid. The patient has a history of mental illness and has been seen for depression and an unsuccessful attempted suicide.
