Instruction
Objective 602.6.1-19: Discuss those aspects of effective instruction that provide opportunities for all students to actively engage in scientific inquiry.
Given:
Scientific knowledge is acquired through several avenues, so it might be best to describe the nature of scientific inquiry as the methods of science rather than the scientific method. In addition, it should always be remembered that even the most compelling scientific theories are still simplified explanations of the natural world. (Tarbuck & Lutgens, 2006, p. 9)
Task:
Write a brief essay (suggested length of 3 pages) in which you:
A. Describe a lesson that provides all students an opportunity to learn about one of the sciences using two instructional approaches that enhance the lesson through active engagement in the scientific inquiry process.
B. Discuss how at least two appropriate supporting evidences from professional education texts, journals, or Web sites support your chosen instructional approach.
C. When you use sources, include all in-text citations and references in APA format.
