Introductory Post for Discussion Board

Date Posted: 27/09/2018
Category: Literary Studies
Due Date: 27/09/2018
Instruction
You have to read the assigned books which might take a little while, but they HAVE to be read in order to post this discussion. Then you have to select 5-10 lines from the one of the books and discuss one of the two themes I will provide. I will provide an example of how this post should look as well. It seems like a lot of work, but it's really not difficult. Instructions are below. 1. Read books 1, 9, 12, 16, and 24 from this link, http://johnstoniatexts.x10host.com/homer/iliad_title.html 2. Select 5-10 lines to write about with the theme of glory or shame and how it applies to the rest of the story. 3. Write at least 300 words after copy and pasting the 5-10 lines. The passage from the book CAN'T be included in the 300 words. 4. Also, do not plagiarize any work because it will be checked for plagiarism when I turn it in.

  • hi, i am copy pasting the lines directly from the home that means they will be plagiarised right? but the rest of the 300 words should be original right?
    Brilliant Answers | Sep 27, 2018, 19:26 PM
  • i mean from the book*
    Brilliant Answers | Sep 27, 2018, 19:27 PM
  • The lines from the book can be copied and pasted but the 300 words can't. I hope you read all the books because it's difficult to focus on one theme if you don't read all the books I provided.
    User_16181 | Sep 27, 2018, 19:31 PM
  • alright , i am reading the books, but the work is easy so i will be done in a few hours
    Brilliant Answers | Sep 27, 2018, 19:33 PM
  • The work is easy, but my teacher is very strict on having a detailed discussion. If it's just random things about the story that makes 300 words, i will recieve a bad grade. Please and Thank you.

  • Can you respond to a couple of my classmates discussion's if I give a bonus.
    User_16181 | Sep 28, 2018, 20:04 PM
  • Hi, yes i can respond to them
    Brilliant Answers | Sep 28, 2018, 20:08 PM
  • Like how long should the response be?
    Brilliant Answers | Sep 28, 2018, 20:09 PM
  • Critiques, in general, need more thought. Don't use your 100 words to summarize other's posts. Instead, use the analysis that you did to get the reader to think more broadly about the primary source we are reading. Spending your time telling them they did a great job, asking them several questions or posing unanswerable hypotheticals, etc., is hard to respond to and puts your classmate in a difficult position. After all, they need to respond in at least 100 words to your critique. Focus on making one observation or posing one question based off the in-depth analysis that you performed for your initial post to help them develop a response.
