ATTACHED YOU WILL FIND THE INFORMATION ON THE ARTIFACT THAT MY BOOK HAS (CHOOSE ONE OF THE 3 MASKS IN THE PICTURE), YOU ARE MORE THAN WILLING TO USE THAT INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THE BOOK. LABEL EACH SECTION INDIVIDUALLY! Part I: Artifact Description -Type of Artifact (Jewelry, Vessel, etc. Be Specific) -Function of Artifact (Storage, Funerary, etc.): -Provenience (where was artifact found, be specific): -Date of Artifact (time period): -Cultural Associations (What cultural group created it?): -Composition of Artifact (metal, ceramic, textile, etc). Describe its specific composition; e.g. If it’s a textile, is it made of wool, cotton, etc. -Basic Description of Artifact: -Are there any images, carvings, designs? Be specific…colors used? -Condition of Artifact (exceptional, good, fair, poor) Why? -Where is the artifact now? Part III: The “Life” of your Artifact (10 points) In 300 words, provide a brief description of the life of your artifact. Begin with how it was created, who created it (you can give a description of the cultural group), how it was used in life, how it was discarded, and end with who eventually recovered it archaeologically. You may get creative with this, but it must be relevant to the cultural group and the artifact. In the past, some students have wrote it from the artifacts perspective! (See below for grading details) In addition to points lost for grammar/writing (see rubric), points will also be deducted for: Paper shorter than 300 word minimum: -1 point 250-299 words; -2 points 200-249 words; -3 points 150-199 words; and so on. You are welcome to go over the 300 word minimum, but no more than 500 words. Less than 3 academic citations: -2 points Citations are not in AAA or APA format: -2 points 5 subject areas were not covered: 1 point deducted for every subject missed Incorrect spelling of indigenous terms or place names: -2 points Paper is written about a non-Mesoamerican group or artifact: Everything gets a ZERO Not submitting the paper and rest of the packet by the deadline will result in a ZERO Plagiarism results in a ZERO

  • Hey, I just checked the assignment. I only saw a few things that were missing. In the section 3 "Life of your artifact" you only have 269 words its suppose to be 300 words for that section, If not the professor will deduct points for that :( and lastly in the section 1 "Artifact Description" the assignment was missing - Function of Artifact - Date of Artifact - Basic Description of Artifact - Condition of Artifact - Where is the Artifact now If I do not complete this in total I could lose 10 points :(
