Instruction
so you should write paper 2 pages about the role that I play in Performance, actually I am a girl and I play man role the man name, McCann. I post my role and I highlighter my line so you can understand more about this role. There is something you should know played this character on the way Stanislavsky will understand when you read the teacher's instructions. I downloaded Stanislavsky's book and what he said about acting. You will understand! This should be a DETAILED reflection on your Performance #1. You are to address the following in a paper which is: Size 12, Times New Roman Font, double spaced, with one inch margins AT LEAST two full pages in length - that is two full pages of writing, minus any titles and extraneous information (name, date, instructor, etc.) Turned into Canvas by the due date in a .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf format MUST BE DISCUSSED THROUGHOUT THE PAPER: Throughout your paper, you MUST USE AT LEAST THREE key ideas/terms/exercises/quotations from the Hodge book's chapter on your method, and talk about how you used this method in your preparation for or performance of this role. (You can underline or highlight these three keywords or ideas to make them clear in your paper). To clarify, I want you to quote three times from the book, somewhere in your paper. For instance, you might quote the book's definition of Emotional Memory from Stanislavsky and then talk about how you tried to do that with your own character OR You could discuss a Meyerhold Exercise you used, from the book, that helped in your preparation for your character role. MUST BE DISCUSSED SPECIFICALLY IN PAPER: Discuss the method you used for this performance (Stanislavsky or Meyerhold). Discuss what you did to GET INTO CHARACTER for this role? How did the method change your understanding or experience of the character? What might have changed about your preparation for this role, and what might have been different if you used the other method? Discuss your character(s): What character(s) did you play? Do a brief analysis of your character in this performance (Who are they, Where & When are they, How do they act, What do they do, Why do they do it, & How are they Motivated?) If you did something interesting (like double casting, with one actor playing two characters, or bifurcating, with one character split into two actors), talk about that choice. What did it do for the performance & what were the challenges? Discuss your blocking for this performance. You MUST use the terminology for the parts of the stage that we discussed in class (Upstage, Downstage, Stage left, Stage Right, etc.). Did you choose a proscenium stage for this performance? Describe what blocking choices you made for your staging format, including use of set pieces, etc. What blocking choices were made, as a group? Talk about any notable choices you or your group made while blocking this scene. What blocking choices were made to avoid upstaging each other and trying to "cheat out" to the audience? Finally, discuss the experience you had of working in this group: What were the challenges? What might you do differently next time? Is there anything else I should know about your group's process or the finished product? This is the place to let me know if individuals weren't showing up to class rehearsals or out-of-class rehearsals, or not participating in the group. If an unfortunate issue happened, this is your place to let me know. It may not be a problem at all, and if that's the case, awesome!
