  • Hi royvance, I've reviewed the essay and it does not follow the instruction. The essay had to be about ONE director and their auteur style on how women are portrayed in their films. Additionally, the essay can only depict up to 5 films by the SAME director. An example thesis can be how director Alfred Hitchcock only portrays women as flat characters who's only role is to serve the male gaze. This can be seen in BLANK, BLANK, and BLANK films. The women in Hitchcock's films are usually voiceless. When they are first introduced in the film, it is their body we see first, not their face. Additionally, Hitchcock has a type when he casts the women for his films, the women are usually blonde, thin, and has blue or green eyes. This is only and EXAMPLE of what the essay's topic should be about. Please if you have any question feel free to ask me.

  • Hi Royvance, the opening paragraph does not reflect the rest of the essay. Though the topic may be similar it does not clearly introduce the essay. In the 4th paragraph you begin with Jenkins but the rest of the paragraph has nothing to do with her. You then start to talk about Narcos, a show (not a film). Additionally, the two other films you talk about Jenkins and barely a 3rd are descriptive! You talk about mostly themes and and summaries parts of the story. None of them analyse the director's filmography. This essay is a CRITICAL AUTEUR essay as stated as the first thing in the instruction box above. Also, there are a lot of statistic in the beginning, a lot of which is unnecessary to relate to the filmography of the director.

  • Also Wonder Women is not a all feminist film. There are other film that have women "heros" who aren't necessarily sexualized. EX: Katnis from the Hunger Games. This is just one example. Wonder Women just get a lot of recognition because it is so mainstreams. Of course it helps that it is a Marvel Film, which comes with a large male audience. But for that reason Wonder Women is still sexualized. Biggest ex. being her costume.

  • Don't worry about the wonder women paragraphs, I will work on those, if you can add more to the other two films that would be great. PLEASE make sure it is analytical, and it doesn't only summarize part of the film. Maybe talk about how the character Aileen, because she has power and control she cannot be objectified and put in societal beauty standards. Or can she?

  • Could you add more to the Velocity Rule paragraph? There is only *one* paragraph about that film. If you can, elaborate more on the layers of the female character or more on the technical side of the narrative, meaning how does the camera ("the gaze") perceive the female character?

  • Hi Roy no need for another revision. Unfortunately, the result you gave me was something that I could not turn in so I rewrote the entire essay. The paragraph of Velocity Rule is borderline plagiarised and the beginning half is not at all about the film, actually, its a completely different short film. I'm guessing you looked on AFI and got a bit confused on the paragraph they had. Anyway, thanks for your efforts.
