Directions For this assignment you will use the Census of State and Federal Correctional Facilities data set, “Census of Correctional Facilities.sav.” Census of Correctional Facilities.sav For this research project prisons are asked to report a variety of information about themselves — number of staff, number of inmates, number of reported assaults, etc. The data set presented here has had most of the variables removed. In this data set, there are only two variables to analyze. Here you will answer the following question — does the prison security level impact escape attempts? First, choose an appropriate descriptive technique to represent the relationship between the two variables. (3 points) Second, make a two-tailed hypothesis about the relationship. (2 points) Third, decide which of the measures of association covered in class to use to analyze the relationship. Describe the reasons that support your choice of statistical technique. (3 points) Fourth, execute the analysis in SPSS and discuss whether the assumptions were met and appropriate conditions were in place. (4 points) Fifth, what is your decision about the results?
