Read about Dewey (http://www.wilderdom.com/experiential/JohnDeweyPhilosophyEducation.html) and his contributions to education. Briefly explain Dewey's philosophical perspective. Develop a basic understanding of Idealism, Realism, Pragmatism, Existentialism, and Constructivism. How might one or more of these philosophies/theories be demonstrated in your work school community? Is there another philosophy that better suits your school community I recommend a visit to Cohen's (http://oregonstate.edu/instruct/ed416/PP2.html) (1999) website as a nice starting point for the different theories. There are three parts to the website...so be sure to "visit" on all three parts. Remember, this is just a starting point...please be sure to continue your research elsewhere and bring in other resources to support your post.
