Understanding the characteristics will give the leader a chance to work and develop their own charisma to help them become a better leader within their organization (Patel, 2017). There are five qualities that all great leaders possess; confidence, creativity, vision, determination, and communication (Patel, 2017).
Confidence within a leader shows they have a strong sense of self and rarely express self-doubt. Optimists individuals are known as for being charismatic, while always seeing the positive in any negative situation they are involved in (Patel, 2017). A strong leader will practice self-confidence, your team will always follow and know the decision being made is the best one for the organization (Patel, 2017).
Creativity shows a leader isn’t afraid to think outside the box, nor afraid to push the limits (Patel, 2017). A charismatic leader will rise to any challenge and use it as an opportunity to grow. Within an organization this can help lead to change and transformation, that can in the future inspire and motive others within the team (Patel, 2017).

Leaders will speak with confidence and charisma, which helps others pay attention (Patel, 2017). Leaders will show that they are comfortable speaking in front of large groups and can do well one on one.
Many people are inspired by a charismatic leader, this gives them a sense of reaching their own goals and dreams (Charismatic Leadership Style Advantages, Disadvantages and Characteristics, n.d.). It gives the team a chance to think differently while working through the vision. A charismatic leader creates a welcoming workplace, the team is happy with the organization they are working for (Charismatic Leadership Style Advantages, Disadvantages and Characteristics, n.d.). A charismatic leader doesn’t expect perfection, they expect you to learn from your mistakes and make the necessary changes (Charismatic Leadership Style Advantages, Disadvantages and Characteristics, n.d.).
There are some disadvantages of having a charismatic leadership. The leadership is dependent on the energy level of the leader which can be an exhausting experience (Charismatic Leadership Style Advantages, Disadvantages and Characteristics, n.d.). A charismatic leader will convince others that their vision is the one to follow which then stops others from following their own dreams or plans (Charismatic Leadership Style Advantages, Disadvantages and Characteristics, n.d.).
