MGT 321: Guidelines for the group presentationYour group should present over the book that you were assigned in class. How you divvy up the presentation responsibilities amongst yourselves is up to you. IF YOU, AS A GROUP, DECIDE SOMEONE WILL NOT TALK BECAUSE THEY ARE UNCOMFORTABLE SPEAKING, YOU MUST INFORM THE PROFESSOR PRIOR TO THE PRESENTATION. Please make every attempt to incorporate/tie in some of the other course materials (textbook, other supplemental texts, and/or articles) Think about how implementing/incorporating the ideas into an organization could impact other topics from the textbook. Also, to incorporate these ideas, what must management do?Make sure to not simply review/summarize the chapters from the textbook. This will result in a major deduction. This presentation should be more of a reaction to the supplemental text and incorporation of the textbook and/or articles that we read for the course. You should treat it as though you are teaching on the concepts. Assume everyone has read and you do not need to summarize. The presentation should be 12-15 minutes long. Reaching this time limit should be simple since you should have several ideas to present and you should to tie them back to the textbook and other materials. You will be deducted 5 points for every minute you are short (starting below 12 minutes). Therefore, if you are below 12 minutes but above 11, the highest grade your group can earn is a 70. The same thing will happen for every minute that you go over the 15 minute mark.Treat this as though you are teaching over these ideas. You can solicit input from the room through posing a question. However, do not try to make your entire presentation questions. You should avoid using videos for this presentation. These are generally just fillers and will not count towards your time. If you have a short video, it can be incorporated, but must be approved prior to the presentation. If not approved, it will not count towards your time. Please make sure that your group also has a PowerPoint presentation that supports/presents the ideas you are presenting to the class. However, do not simply read off of the slides. Make sure to have bulleted items on your slides from which you expand. There will also be a peer evaluation for these presentations. For the evaluation, each group member will rate the others on a scale of 0-10. The groups presentation grade will then be multiplied by the average of the peer evaluations for each individual. The outcome will make the final grade for each individual. Please note, you will have to justify your rating for each individual. Therefore, you cannot just simply give them a high or low score. For the presentation, you must wear at least business casual attire. If you do not, you will have points deducted (just you not the group). Also, every instance of profane language in the presentation will result in a personal 5 point deduction.
