The biggest challenge I see with this is that of alignment. You have a great topic but it is still incredibly broad. While there are challenges that social workers who work with the Department of Human Services face, these challenges can also vary depending on the region of the country the live in, the funding available, and the supporting community resources. This is why the problem statement needs to be written in a way that provides additional context. Will you be specifically conducting research with social workers in a certain geographic region? Are you studying ethical dilemmas, impoverished families, or services provided to children? These could all fit under the umbrella of challenges that social workers face. I also want to see you be more specific in the Significance of the Study. How will the results "build bridges" between services providers, police officers, etc? How will social workers be better able to assist children/impoverished families through the results? I want to encourage you dig a bit deeper and to be as concrete (and concise) as possible in narrowing down what good will come of the findings.
