Discussion: Implications of Risk Management Regulatory compliance is the term used to describe how well an organization follows required laws and regulations set forth by local, state, and federal governments. When these laws and regulations are not adhered to, it usually results in legal consequences for the organization that can be very costly. Human Resources plays a key role in helping to ensure that organizations manage and abide by these regulations. Following these requirements is integral to the integrity of every organization and can also help organizations to be better poised to achieve their organizational goals.

As the HR Director in this situation: Identify a critical first step Human Resources must take when legal risks arise in such compromising situations. Explain the critical role of Human Resources in ensuring the organization’s regulatory compliance as an important component in the overall risk management program. Explain at least two risks of failing to recognize potential legal risks in this scenario. What additional risk is there in the HR Director failing to act once the situation has been identified?
