1-Federalism is a system of government in which power is divided between a national (federal) government and various state governments. In the United States, the U.S. Constitution gives certain powers to the federal government, other powers to the state governments, and yet other powers to both. Please identify and discuss these powers. Do you believe the Federal Government's powers are to invasive? Should state powers prevail, be more powerful? Explain your answers.
2-Class, economic class, socio-economic class, social class. Each refers to how people are sorted into hierarchies in society: but there are, in fact, important differences among them. What's the difference? Is one more important than the other within our political scheme of things? Please explain you answers.
3-Consider and choose an unfunded mandate passed at the state or federal level in recent history. Discuss the effects.
