purpose: to explore cultural differences regarding expectations and the guidance of young children’s behaviour.The following assignment will provide you with the opportunity to build on your knowledge of behavior and cultural differences as they apply to working with an every increasingly diverse population of young children and their families. The reality of teaching in today’s Canadian classrooms and communities is one of unprecedented diversity in the typical student population. As a result educators will be exposed to a wide range of cultural expectations around children and their behavior. Some expectations and practices will be similar to your own and will cause little additional stress in your work. However there will be experiences related to your work with young children that will be significantly different in expectation or practice This assignment is aimed at getting you to reflect on your own beliefs as well as problem-solving how you might best meet the needs

have to be done with correct apa format including in text citations, references and running head. 1.Identify and outline an area of behaviour, development or practice that you would be interestedin exploring .The topic needs to be within the area of behaviour guidance.Examples are: discipline practices-spanking, time out, etc. gender differences in the way boys and girls are socialized behavioural expectations for young children working with special needs populations2.Using your own experiences as a starting point and scholarly research articles provide an outlineof how your selected area is reflected in a typical Canadian context, ex. how is discipline typically dealt with in Canadian families or classrooms3.Compare your selected area of behavior to a comparable area from a different cultural group you are interested in researching. For example, if inappropriate behaviour is dealt with using strategies like time out in Canadian contexts then how is it dealt with in the cultural group you have selected?4.Outline a set of strategies for how you would positively deal and work with these potential differences in practice or expectation in your future classroom environment. Strategies need to be specific to how you will support the child in your daily interactions.5. How would you work with the family and your colleagues to meet the developmental needs of the child while still demonstrating respect for the child’s home context? Provide practical ideas
