I. Cover Page - Must have topic and name of student. Professor name optional.
II. Abstract (optional) - One paragraph description of what is in the report
III. Introduction - 1 to 2 pages introduction which will give the reader adequate background on the issue area of the selected topic. The introduction will describe the scope of the issue in New York State or New York City. This means your reader should get good understanding of how big a scale of the problem your issue is for NYS or NYC from your introduction.
IV. Body - This portion of your report presents broader understanding of what the problem is in the selected geographical area of NYS or NYC, and also provides most of the statistics from government records and publications to explain it. This portion also discusses how community groups and advocates have been responding to the issue and what they want their elected representatives to do to address the issues.
V. Conclusion - Here the reader of your report needs a quick summary of how some of the policy recommendations in the body of your report will help address the issues being discussed (topic).
VI. List of references used - Must be organized according to MLA style, including in-text citations, not footnotes
