Discussion Prompt 1 Revisit the two essential psychomotor skills that you selected for your discussion posting during week 6. What are two strategies you might use to assess the student’s learning outcomes and improve learning? (Precision and articulation were the two psychomotor skills chosen). Discussion Prompt 2 After viewing the video of the student disagreeing with the grade he received, discuss each of the responses given by the faculty. In your discussion, include how each response facilitated or hindered the quality of interaction between the instructor and the student. How would you have handled this situation? The video is about a college student who's frustrated about his grade (D) on his assignment and walks in the classroom and starts arguing with the instructor in a rude and angry way. The student says "I spent many hours on this assignment, I have always showed up to class and did what was asked in class and my assignment at least deserves a B". The instructor response is also very unprofessional in the first scenario. He says "You need to follow the rubric which you didn't and this is college, not kindergarten and you need to work harder". Then the student says he's going to talk to his advisor to investigate the teacher and walk out. In the second scenario, the instructor is more professional and says, "I understand your frustration, let's go over your assignment and explain your grade".
