  • Got the following comments: A.) Matrix Phonemic, rule-based, visual, and morphemic are four valid strategies for teaching spelling; a spell checker is not a valid strategy for teaching spelling, so this whole row requires modification. The purpose for strategies 1-4 are sufficient and the activities for 1-3 are appropriate. The activity for #4 requires clarification as it is not accurately explaining how the strategy works, and the final column needs to be adjusted as the ideas do not currently explain how each strategy can be adapted for a specific group of students. B.) Lesson Plan Components An interesting lesson on homophones has been presented, which is an important skill for increasing vocabulary at this age. Adjustments are needed, though, as these words do not follow a specific spelling rule and the purpose of this task is to teach one common spelling rule. When revising, please ensure the objective explains in measurable terms what students will be accomplishing at the end of the lesson with the three required elements (condition, behavior, and criterion level) and please also include a `resources` section as this has been removed. B.) Lesson Plan Alignment The lesson components align with learning homophones. Adjustments are needed to provide a lesson where all components (standard, goal, objective, instructional sequence, and assessment) align with teaching one common spelling rule. B.) Lesson Plan Instructional Plan/Sequence of Instruction The term homophones has been accurately defined and activities are explained for practicing with homophones. Please modify the instructional sequence so it focuses on teaching, practicing (with and without the teacher), and reviewing one common spelling rule. B.) Spelling Irregularity Example A lesson on homophones has been presented. Once a lesson has been presented that teaches a common spelling rule, please provide an exception to that rule. B.) Spelling Strategy A lesson on homophones has been presented. Once a common spelling rule is taught and an exception word is presented, please provide a strategy that will help students remember both the rule and exception. B.) Assessment A rubric is explained that focuses on participation and listening skills, although this is not appropriate for assessing a spelling rule. Once a lesson has been presented that teaches a common spelling rule, please provide an assessment that is aligned with the spelling objective.

    User_4189 | Jul 04, 2014, 08:43 AM
  • i have really worked hard on the revision and i hope your professor appreciates the work i have put in. kindly confirm on any other changes you may need so that i can rectify before your deadline...hope you get a good rating on this

    User_3726 | Jul 04, 2014, 19:11 PM
  • I agree to do $70 in total with these last revisions. The matrix comments: Five valid strategies for teaching spelling are included in the matrix, with a reasonable statement of purpose for each strategy. The information in the third column is somewhat related to the strategy (except for the the rule-based strategy), although it does not clearly describe a learning activity related to the strategy; and the final column makes some references to students with visual impairments, yet adaptations to learning activities are not evident. The third column should provide a sample learning activity to show how the strategy works, and the final column should then explain how the activity could be adapted for a specific type of diverse learner B. Lesson Plan Components Information is provided for each component of a second grade spelling lesson, although some components are better suited for reading (Lesson Title and Standards). While several statements are provided in the objective component, the criteria for mastery is not evident for any of the objectives, and the point system for the poem recitation requires clarification as it is not clear how points are awarded for this task. B. Lesson Plan Instructional Plan/Sequence of Instruction While the rule is identified in the New Information step, it is not clear how the teacher introduces this rule to students and how much time is allotted for this step. The practice activity (Guided Practice) and spelling test (Independent Practice) both appear to be done independently, which means an activity is needed where the teacher and students work together (Guided Practice). Also, it is not clear why students are tested with words that are exceptions to the rule before they are taught the exceptions, and a time element for this step is not evident. B2. Assessment An assessment chart is provided that provides a space for recording scores on the worksheet, spelling test, and poem recitation. While it is clear how points are awarded for the worksheet and spelling test, it is not clear how points are awarded for the poem recitation.

  • how much time do i have to do these new revisions?
    User_3726 | Jul 04, 2014, 21:13 PM
  • 5 - 6 hours? maybe I can get 8 hours max. do you think u need more than that?
    User_4189 | Jul 04, 2014, 21:16 PM

  • no problem. in the meantime I'm working on fixing the standards that they also commented on but I can fix that myself. I just need help with the above. thanks.
    User_4189 | Jul 04, 2014, 21:40 PM
  • i have added notes on the activity that could be adapted for a specific type of diverse learner B and the questions raised on the actual lesson plan. if there are other issues could you please handle them Honestly, this has been a tough paper but i have learnt a lot ...could you kindly raise the payment to $80,
    User_3726 | Jul 04, 2014, 23:08 PM
  • What were your professor's final comments...i addressed some of the issues he/she had raised on the matrix concerning diverse B learners grading system for the poem. In addition i changed the order of student activities and included a task involving both students and the teacher; i further i included time allocation for the activities. on testing the students on exceptions, i introduced in the plan a procedure for teaching before assessment; Finally you said you would work on fixing the standards contained in the lesson plan...can i still expect payment for my efforts>
    User_3726 | Aug 04, 2014, 13:18 PM
  • Kindly confirm if i should still expect payment for this task as you promised...
    User_3726 | Aug 04, 2014, 23:39 PM

  • Thanks for the payment. Your Evaluator must be really strict or are you undertaking a PHD course? Anyway you could have asked your professor for a marking rubric to really focus on the critical marking points of the assignment. I will still be glad to work with you in future on shorter projects.
