Based on the Industrial Relations School of thought, labor problems stem from bargaining inequalities between organizations and workers. Some people join unions because they have a basic understanding and a belief that unions add to the individual voice and can help balance the power between companies and workers. According to (Clark & Sadler, 2010), unions engage with employers in a more productive way than individuals create agreements that outline benefits for employees, such as compensation, health benefits, and better working conditions in the workplace. One of the tools that unions use to get organizations to cooperate is a strike. Strikes are not beneficial to companies because they stop productivity and interfere with customer services (Clark & Sadler, 2010).
