Task 6: Reluctant Faculty, Shared Vision, and Assessing Organizational Capacity (3-4 pages) 25 points.
Look back into you school community and profile faculty that might be reluctant to change. Refer to Ch. 6 for guidance on characteristics of reluctant faculty. Describe how you will encourage reluctant faculty to adopt change, recapping issues you discussed earlier.
Discuss strategies for creating a shared vision (see chart in Senge p.89). Depending on the nature of the actions you choose to pursue in order to achieve the results to solve your problem/issue, explain how you will build a shared vision in the school, describing the strategies you will use. These strategies will depend on the nature of the school environment. Justify the use of these strategies.
Reflect on the key factors described by Evans in chapter 7 in order to assess the organizational capacity of you educational institution to adopt the change: occupational framework, politics, history, stress, finances, and culture. Discuss each of these factors under a separate heading.
Reflection:
Reflect on the content learned regarding your problem and the task (150-300 words).
Reflect on the process you used to augment your learning and to problem solve (self-evaluate) (150-300 words).
Reflect on the change of your own assumptions about the problem, the system and the solution (150-300 words).
