It may certainly be a report from a member of your small group. Create a comprehensive Improvement Plan as an artifact that you will present to the campus Site Based Decision Making Committee highlighting an area in need of academic improvement as indicated by recent sources of data, including the TAPR (Texas Academic Performance Report). Your plan should include the following: A detailed explanation of the specific academic content area and grade(s) to be addressed, including root cause indicators A comprehensive goal statement (written as a SMART goal) An action plan for PLC work that includes strategies to be discussed, a monitoring timeline, formative and summative assessments plan, and description of how and when progress will me monitored, evaluated and shared with stakeholders Your presentation should be professional and scholarly in tone. Begin by introducing each group member, avoid unexplained acronyms, and include frequent checks for understanding*. Summarize in concluding remarks. *Be mindful of your audience. Remember that not all SDMC members are educators, and your goal is for everyone to understand the problem, the cause, and experience a sense of urgency regarding student achievement. Create a sense of confidence among the committee that this plan effectively addresses the area(s) of need and will be monitored with fidelity and evaluated honestly. Ensure the committee that you will provide frequent status reports on student progress
