InstructionThis is your Creative Response Assignment # 2. You will have four Creative Response Assignments in the Modules, but you only have to complete three. Within each Creative Response Assignment, you will also have options; for example, here, for Creative Response Assignment # 2, you have three options. You only have to complete 2 of the options below. Each Creative Response Assignment sheet will appear in the Module that covers the information you will be creatively responding to. That is, each assignment is related to particular material in your Modules and so it will appear in the Module with that particular material. I encourage you to work on them on the week that they are assigned instead of waiting till the end when they are due. All of the assignment options below require that you create an infographic. The following are three online tools that have a free option for creating infographics: Canva Canva Infographic Maker Venngage https://venngage.com/ Piktochart https://piktochart.com/ 1. Create an infographic that takes information from the PBS film “Foreigners in their Own Land” and presents it in a visually appealing and organized way. Pick the most important information you learned from the whole video or focus on one topic (Las Gorras Blancas) covered in the film. You may do extra research to complete this assignment. You must have at least 8 different entries of information in your infographic. You should have between 140 and 200 words in this infographic. 2. Create an infographic about the Bracero Program using information you learned from the multiple sources provided about the Braceros in Module Week 2B. You should not take from only ONE source, but SHOULD USE AT LEAST TWO DIFFERENT SOURCES IN FROM OUR MODULE. You may also do some extra research. Your infographic should be visually appealing, clean & neat, and must be informative. You can should use graphics; charts are optional. Your information should cover a brief explanation of the Bracero program and then any details, statistics, facts, anecdotes, other information you would like to include. You must have at least 8 different entries of information in your infographic. You should have between 140 and 200 words in this infographic. 3. Create an infographic titled “What’s in a Name?” inspired by the George Washington Gomez reading. This infographic should tell me all about your name. You may use your first name only or your full name. Include the following information: actual cultural origin of your name, meaning of your name, history of your name (Why, how did you get it?), adjective(s) you associate with your name, what your name means to you, other names you go by/nicknames, and any other important information about your name that would help us get to know you and the significance of your name. For this one, I created an infographic for my name as an example. I created it using the free version of Piktochart. I spent 45 minutes on it. You should produce something with more information. Mine is only so that you can get an idea of what I expect. The link below is to my infographic. You should have between 75 to 150 words for this infographic. https://create.piktochart.com/output/39885458-untitled-infographic ***Once you’ve completed your infographic, save it as PDF and you can turn that in. This will require a paid membership for Venngage and Piktochart. For Canva, you can pay $1 to download the image and save it on your device. To turn your image in for free, in Piktochart just click SHARE at the top of the screen and copy the URL address that it provides for your infographic; make sure it is public and that you follow the instructions. You will turn in that URL address in the submission link for this assignment. For Venngage, it looks like even sharing isn’t free. You will have to PUBLISH it to their website; so click PUBLISH. At that point, it will give you a URL for the infographic that you can then turn in to me. For Canva, which I found was the best one, you will click SHARE at right hand top of the screen, and then the DROPDOWN MENU arrow next to the words “Share a link to edit.” This will open more options including “Share a link to view.” Click on that and you will have a link that you should copy and paste in your assignment submission box. A final option is to take a good picture of your screen when you create the infographic and to turn in the image. Make sure it is a jpg file. Before submitting, PLEASE make sure to test the link you share or the image you share with a friend or on a different device to make sure that the link or image open and are functioning properly. Canva is very user friendly, but if you are having trouble figuring out how to use the online tools please consult an online tutorial. Search for one on google and something will pop up. If after doing this, you are still stuck, you can email me about it. If you have any other questions, email me. ***Extra credit: To replace a quiz or exercise grade OR for +5 points on your final exam, you may complete a second infographic. This must be turned in in the assignment link
