Teacher Interactions Lab: Written Report Instructions
Each student will develop a 3-5 page typewritten report. The report must:
• Identify the name of each teacher and if they are not at the lab school, an email address, so we can verify.
• Attach to the paper their responses to the scenarios (at the end of the report). This does NOT count toward the 3-5 pages.
• Summarize each scenario (be sure to put a description of the scenario so I know which one it is.)
• Identify specific guidance strategies in your summary of each scenario that were stated and summarize the teacher’s answers to questions a-h (above) for each scenario.
• Compare specific guidance strategies employed for each scenario, and which theories of guidance each strategy represents. Be very specific. You will find theories of practice in your textbook and online.
• Compare and contrast the positive interactions and supportive relationships described in the scenario responses. Explain ways in which teaching style and curricula would influence interactions with the children. Be specific
• Compare and contrast any negative interactions and guidance that may be expressed in the teacher responses. Explain what the teachers should do differently.
• Describe how the environment, such as room arrangement, noise level, lighting, soft elements, and colors or materials on the classroom walls could affect behavior in each scenario and what could have been changed to improve the classroom environment.
• Explain what might have been the cause of the behavior problems in each scenario.
• Identify a minimum of 3 resources to which parents could be referred for assistance with these problems. Include names of agencies, addresses, phone numbers, contact persons and websites, and a short summary of services provided by each.
• Include any references you used including your textbook at the end of the report.
