15 for the 5 paragraph paper. I need three sighted situations in the essay Quoted no plagiarism and no big long words I’m in comp 2 in my first semester in my second year of college and my teacher grade hard. The purpose of Essay Two is to analyze various items (memes, videos, articles, etc.) to demonstrate how one issue can be presented in multiple ways with a similar argument/point being made in each instance. For example, two comedic videos and an article may all be humorous but have an overall message concerning the harmful effects of bullying. In your essay, you will be analyzing what your chosen sources have in common and attempting to demonstrate a central purpose for them. OPTION 1 Choose three examples of self-deprecating humor to analyze for Paper Two. These choices can be memes, videos, and/or articles, meaning that you can use a combination. If you use items from class discussions, you can only use TWO of them; the third must be your own choice. (You can choose all of them on your own if you wish.) Make sure that all three have a common theme (weight, anxiety, stress, etc.). A Works Cited and in-text/parenthetical citations will obviously be required as well. In your paper, use the questions from class to analyze each example of self-deprecating humor and to develop each body paragraph. The questions are relisted below: 1. What is the overall focus/main subject of the video? 2. Who is the comedian in the video? If there is no comedian/video, describe the image. 3. Consider the terms ethos, pathos, logos¸ and kairos from earlier discussion. Can you identify an examples of each from the video, image, or article? How does the argumentative appeal function in the meme, article, or video to make an overall point? 4. How has the comedian, author, or meme creator made himself vulnerable to his audience so that he/she can securely connect with his/her subject matter? 5. What is the overall message about the main subject? OPTION 2 Choose three examples of satire that you will analyze for Paper Two. These choices can be videos, cartoon images, and/or articles (NOT memes). Be sure that the satires have a common theme (politics, education, poverty, fashion, family life, pop culture, social media, historical events, etc.). If you use items from class discussions, you can only use ONE of them; the second and third must be your own choice. (You can choose all of them on your own if you wish.) A Works Cited and in-text/parenthetical citations will obviously be required as well. In your paper, use the questions from class to analyze each example of satire and to develop each body paragraph. The questions are relisted below: 1. What does the satire ridicule? What/Who are its targets? 2. What does the satire suggest is preferable to whatever is criticized? 3. What techniques does the satirist use to convey his or her ridicule? 4. To what extent is the satirist justified in attacking his target? 5. How successful is the satire? Example introduction: Today, the world of U.S. politics is fierce, passionate, and sometimes unbelievable. Candidates are caught exaggerating, grandstanding, and even insulting other politicians or political groups. The heightened emotional intensity and wild antics, especially in light of the Donald Trump presidency, has sometimes led to distrust and also to disbelief; thus, many writers, videographers, and cartoonists focus on U.S. politics in satirical ways.
