Instruction
I did some of this, but need revisions on most of it and need things to be added in.
Will post directions and then work that needs to be revised and done.
A. Design an original lesson plan (using the attached “Lesson Plan Formatâ€) that teaches students how to use the process approach to writing in order to write an expository paragraph. Include the following in the lesson plan:
1. Appropriate step-by-step writing instructions to help students learn the process approach to writing
2. An original example of an expository paragraph
3. A description of a writing activity within the lesson that is based on the “National Writing Project†information found on the web link (see below)
a. Explain (suggested length of 3–4 paragraphs) why you have selected the activity.
b. Explain (suggested length of 1 page) how the activity fits into one of the steps of the process approach to writing.
Note: Use ideas from the National Writing Project web link as you write your lesson plan.
B. Explain (suggested length 2–4 paragraphs) how the designed lesson plan and activity promote interest and engagement in writing.
C. If you use sources, include all in-text citations and references in APA format.
REVISIONS NEEDED:
A. The objective explains that the students will write an expository paragraph; however, insufficient detail describes the `Exam` that will be used for the assessment. In addition, limited detail describes the `classroom` for the instructional setting as well as the `worksheet` for materials. Also, two standards are given, but one is inappropriate as it is focused on teacher learning.
2. Expository writing is mentioned in the standard and objective. However, further explanation is needed to show alignment with the instructional sequence, standards, and assessment.
3. Expository writing is mentioned, but an incomplete explanation of expository writing is given in the lesson plan. Further explain and give details for how expository writing will be taught throughout each step of the instructional sequence as well as include approximate times for the steps. Revise the differentiated instructional and pedagogical strategies based on adjustments to the lesson.
A1. The process approach to writing is not evident in the lesson plan.
A2. An original expository paragraph could not be located in the work.
A3. A `National Writing Project` activity could not be located in the work.
A3A. A response to this aspect is not evident in the work.
A3B. A response to this aspect is not evident in the work.
B. A response to this aspect is not evident in the work.
