Give an example of how this research design is used in your nursing discipline. -Discussion 2: It is important to determine the validity and reliability of the research instruments when reading a research study. How does the validity and reliability of an instrument influence the credibility of the study and the value of the evidence? -Discussion 3: Which characteristics should be appraised when evaluating qualitative and quantitative research design? Which characteristics are the most important and why? -Discussion 4: What is the difference between qualitative and quantitative research sampling strategies? Compare and contrast the strategies and describe some of the advantages and disadvantages of each. -Discussion 5: An inappropriate sample size can call into question an entire research project. How can a researcher determine what is an appropriate sample size? Share your research question for your research proposal assignment. What is an appropriate sample size for your proposal? Why? -Discussion 6: How is data used to evaluate outcomes? Provide an example as it relates to an area of nursing. Using the three P’s of dissemination, identify which method could be best used to distribute the results of your study that you have designed in this course. Why is this the best method of dissemination? What impact could this method, as well as your research, have on the field of nursing or patient health care? -Discussion 7: What is the difference between statistical significance and clinical significance? Find an example of a study that shows a statistical significance but not a clinical significance. Explain why the statistical significance does not warrant a clinical significance.
