This assignment consists of three sections:
1. Summary
a. Write a summary of the scholarly article, identifying its main point(s) and major supporting details.
b. The first sentence of the summary must include the following: an identification of the author and title of the article and the thesis.
2. Audience Analysis
a. To whom is the author speaking? How do you know? Describe the audience(s).
b. How does the author approach the various segments of his/her audience?
3. Evaluation
a. Discuss the critical approach that the author uses in the article (formalist, historical, biographical, Marxist, gender studies, psychological, and mythological), if appropriate.
b. Discuss the success of the author’s approach for his/her audience.
c. Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the arguments made within the article.
