Case Analyses
When you read the case, look for the core problem that is being considered
Upon which area of business does this case focus: Strategy, Finance, Accounting, Marketing or Human Resources? It could be related to technology or data collection, but that would be less common – unless it relates specifically to those topics rather than how they impact one of the areas listed above.
Now, what type of problem in the identified area have you identified? Is it an HR competitiveness issue, strategic direction issue, poor identification of target market issue, etc.? That will be the root problem.
Notice that the root problem could describe a lot of companies – it doesn’t give specific details about the company in the case.
Determine if the problem is totally internal or if there are external factors that impact any potential decisions
Use analyses identified in class that help make decisions based on whether the issue is internally or externally relevant
Use at least two different analysis methods from: SWOT, PESTEL, 3C’s, Porter’s Five Forces.
Make the recommendation that addresses the root problem
While there could be several recommendations, make sure that your recommendation goes in only one direction (not: they could do this… or that…)
Make sure that the recommendation flows logically from your analysis and that you include a detailed plan to address the problem
The recommendation should be sensible – it can happen with the available resources
Make sure the recommendation provides a vision for the company within the area identified

I'll attach the rubric!!
Look at the rubric for marking the case and make sure you have what you need to get top marks:
Problem identification: root cause of core problem is identified and described with clarity and concision
Issue or situational analysis: strategic implications are identified in excellent depth and are integrated; multiple relevant tools are well applied, both internally and externally
Actionable recommendation for problem resolution: recommendations are complete, integrated “vision” for the organization that is directly responsive to the identified problem and provides effective, efficient, feasible and well integrated action items.
