Article Critique Guidelines Select three peer-reviewed journal articles dealing with some aspect of forensic psychology. Use your textbook for examples of potential topics to choose from. I will select one from the three that you have selected. Once you have obtained your articles, print them out and bring them to me at class or you may email them to me to approve. I must approve your article before you can begin your critique. I will note the article you have selected to critique. In the event that someone has already selected your article, I will choose one from the other two that you have. In the event that you have not selected three peer- reviewed articles, I may ask you to obtain additional articles to ensure you have the correct sources. Guidelines for your critique: 1. Your critique should be 4-5 double-spaced typed pages, 12-pt. font, default margins. 2. In 1-2 pages, summarize the literature review. Discuss the problem statement: What is the focus of the current study? Why is this study important? 3. Methodology section: What type of data is used in the study? How was it collected? Do you foresee any limitations to the data? Explain. 4. Results and Discussion section: Discuss the main findings of the article. How may the findings be used to improve current criminology/criminal justice practices in the field? To answer this question, you may want to look at what the book says about the topic. 5.
