Reply on: According to Thomas Owens 2004 software engineering ethics are subset of engineering ethics and professional ethics applied to the decision and development of software system. engineering ethics and engineering philosophy look at the relationship between the engineer an individual ,his employee and society in general . in this case SDX alliance and Ralph they did not know about the copyright and this is major problem they must have the full information about patent and copyright of the soft engineering ethics. and Ralph he is completely unaware about the fact that what the ex-employer company has been done for those codes that was created by him. When Ralph is working for SDX then he uses the same code which is create in his previous job as it gives the effective results. The problem is faced by the company because the startup company has taken the copyright for a particular code of the software which was written by Ralph who was working as an intern at that company. According to my point of view They must to get contact with the owner of the copyright and ask them if they are interested in selling it because they already work on it . and the second thing Ralph have to change the code to new one. Or the company can make a serious step and action to the employee for his failure about not telling at the same time he is not fully aware about the copyrights and patent of the company because this situation the other company can sue them and this will led to a huge loss.
