WORK CITED ASSIGNMENT
Works cited assignment. In this assignment you will create a works cited page that will correspond to your research paper. At this point, all you need to do is list at least five academic sources according to MLA style formatting. Of course, using more sources is acceptable. If you prefer to use APA, that is fine, just be sure to use it correctly. Your works cited will be a mix of a minimum of five academic books and peer reviewed journal articles. If you don’t know how to cite academic sources using MLA style use this resource: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/After you find your topic for the research paper, you’ll need to find academic sources in order to synthesize and support your paper. You can find academic sources at the UA library: http://new.library.arizona.edu/If you are unsure whether or not a source is academic you can check the class syllabus which has further information. You can always use Ulrich’s International Periodicals Directory. This database will tell you if the article you found is peer reviewed. To use Ulrich’s International Periodicals Directory, go to the UA library and choose “find materials”. Then click on “Research Databases”. Then choose “U”. Scroll down to Ulrich’s International Periodicals Directory an click that link. When you enter the title of the journal it will show you a referee jersey next to the journal title you entered. This indicates that it is peer reviewed. If it does not have a referee jersey next to the title, it is not an academic source. Note – be sure to put in the journal title and not the title of the article. If you enter the title of the article the result will be incorrect. When you have collected all five of your sources, create a works cited page using MLA style formatting.
