Instruction
For this exercise we will be using a site called Beetle Blocks
(Links to an external site.)
which is designed to use object-oriented programming units as a way to program simple code sets to create 2D and 3D forms. Visual Coding is a kind of programming that is easier to learn than text coding, but it uses the same basic principles, so it can help introduce you to how programming works. Program modules can be selected from drop down menu panels on the left, and placed on a programming area in the middle of the browser window. Then the results show up on the right. The result of the programming instructions are visualized as movements of a bug on the screen. Think of that as an animated cursor that follows a series of directions, and depending on the chosen directives, at times it leaves a line or a shape behind it as it moves.
Turn it in, both as an SVG file, and as an XML file. To download, go to the upper left and click on the icon shaped like an SD card, then look for:
“Download 2d lines as” which is what saves an SVG file, and save it as: LASTNAME_SPIROGRAPH.SVG
And
“Download project as” which is what saves an XML file, and save it as: LASTNAME_SPIROGRAPH.XML
